When a headline says an "FDA panel backs" something, what actually happened? FDA's advisory committees give the agency outside expert advice. For peptides, the one to know is the Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee (PCAC). Its vote is a recommendation, not a decision.

PCAC met July 23 and 24, 2026 on seven peptides. [V] AJMC reported that the committee recommended six of the seven, including 8-6 votes with one abstention on BPC-157, KPV and TB-500. FDA's meeting page showed no vote summary when we checked, so we treat those counts as secondary. [S] FDA's early announcement of its next meeting, before the end of February 2027, lists five substances: GHK-Cu, PEG-MGF, melanotan II, LL-37 and dihexa acetate. That page was current as of April 15, 2026. [V] After a meeting, FDA still has to act, usually through notice-and-comment rulemaking.
